[HQ] Vision Concert

Hwarang members, along with esteemed guest singers and performers collectively participated in the 2024 Vision Concert on Feb. 17th. With each chapter dedicating a performance to the theme of unity and a vision for a better future of the Hwarang Youth Foundation, the performances proved to be stunning, capturing the very essence of the Foundation through the lense of each specific chapter.

Summit Secretary Donggeon Kim and OC District Secretary Ashley Kim acted as hosts for the event, kicking off the event by first retelling the feats and experiences of the Foundation this previous year, applauding the efforts of the Hwarang members. As the Concert started, Hwarang members displayed their own talents and skills on stage through different genres of performances. Ensembles, solos, Nanta teams (Korean traditional style of drumming), KPOP dancing groups, and a taekwondo group, are some of the numerous performances that were dedicated to the Vision concert. The many chapters’ performances not only provided exciting entertainment, but also prompted a feeling of cultural unity and pride, as the performances combined group talents with hints of Korean heritage.

The Hwarang Youth Foundation gave performing opportunities to not only the Hwarang chapters but to individuals outside of the Foundation who were willing to express their thoughts and ideas by dedicating a performance. Anna Pacheco, a musician and songwriter, sung two songs she personally made, captivating the audience with her elegant voice. Another musical luminary, Kenny Hwang, a renowned opera singer with various accolades and accomplishments, executed a song with his astonishing tenor vocal range.

The Vision Concert stands as a result of the combined efforts of the community of Hwarang. With the profits made from this concert and the funds collected with great effort by Hwarang’s Chapters, the Foundation will dedicate all the money and itself to help out patients in third world countries like Guatemala to make Cataract Eye Surgeries more affordable to the less fortunate. Overall, the combination of dedication, passion, and generosity showcased at the 2024 Vision Concert sheds light on the progress made by the Foundation, further encouraging the continuation of positive change that extends beyond the stage of the Concert.
