Korean Culture Night
On October 7, 2023, about 15 Hwarang SV members attended the Korean Culture Night hosted at Santa Teresa High School, CA, where several Korean dance teams and taekwondo demo teams performed in commemoration of 120 years of Korean immigration to the United States. At the event, Hwarang members arrived early to check in guests and to help the VIP’s find their seats at the show, and worked as door security to ensure all guests had been checked in. The four performing teams were God’s Image, a Korean and Christian dance team, Cupertino Elite and CALSMA, and finally Muju, a traveling taekwondo demo team from South Korea. Some highlights include a choreographed fight scene, flips, kicks flying 20 feet in the air, and board breaking. In between these performances, we heard speeches from Sangsoo Yoon who is the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, Seungduk Jeong who is the president of the Korean American Journalists Association as well as special belt promotions and ceremonies for two taekwondo grandmasters. In addition, two Hwarang SV chapter presidents who are Eunjoon Hong (president of Altos Chapter) and Siyoung Lee (president of Dublin Chapter) both received the Outstanding Contribution Award from the Consulate General of South Korea for their constant efforts to support the Korean community. After the event, Hwarang members helped clean up the venue, and finally greeted the VIP’s and guests before they left, also offering special gifts from the hosts.

2023년 10월 7일, 15명의 화랑 실리콘밸리 멤버들이 캘리포니아 주 산타테레사 고등학교에서 개최된 한국 문화의 밤 행사에 참석했습니다. 이 행사에서는 미국으로의 한국 이민 120주년을 기념하여 한국 댄스팀과 태권도 팀의 화려한 공연이 펼쳤습니다. 이 특별한 행사에서 화랑 멤버들은 게스트들의 체크인을 위해 리셉션에서 도와주었고, VIP 손님들 안내를도왔습니다.또한 참석하는 손님들의 보안및 체킹이 완료되었는지 확인을 하기위해 정문에서 듬직한 네명의 화랑멤버들이 보안 가드 역할을 수행했습니다. 갓스 이미지 (God's Image), 쿠퍼티노 엘리트 태권도 팀, CALSMA 태권도 팀, 그리고 한국에서 무주 태권도 사관학교 홍보를 위한 20여명의 무주 태권도 팀의 멋진 공연이 있었습니다.하이라이트로는 연출된 싸움 장면, 20피트를 날아다니는 킥과 플립, 그리고 판자 깨기등이 환상적으로 펼쳐졌고 많은 박수 갈채를 받았습니다. 이번 행사에서는 윤상수 샌프란시스코 영사, 정승덕 언론인 회장 등의 초청 귀빈들의 연설과 두명의 태권도 관장님들을 위한 특별 벨트 승진 및 시상식이 진행되었습니다. 특별히 화랑 실리콘밸리의 홍은준 (팔로알토 하이스쿨, Altos 챕터 회장)과 이시영 (더블린 하이스쿨, Dublin 챕터 회장)이 한국 총영사관으로부터, 한국 행사에 차세대 리더로서 적극적이고 지속적인 참여해왔음을 인정받아 상장을 수여 받았습니다. 행사 종료 후, 모든 멤버들은 행사장 마무리를 도왔으며, 참석해주신 VIP 손님들에게 감사 인사및 주최측에서 준비한 소정의 특별한 선물을 전달했습니다.화랑 실리콘벨리 모든 멤버들이 미국 이민 120주년을 맞이하여 코리안 어메리칸 리더로 성장하고 알릴수 있는 기회가 되었습니다.
