Hwarang Youth Foundation

Welcome to the Bethany Chapter located in Portland, Oregon! Bethany Chapter has more than 20 members in our chapter, ranging from 8th grade to 12th grade students. Some of our main volunteer events include food banks, music performances at nursing homes, and forest restoration projects. One of our significant volunteer events is our contributions towards war veterans.

We do this by performing music at their post, help in setting up war memorial events, and even attending their conferences. Within a diverse age group, we aim to provide volunteering events that meet the students’ interests and overall that targets all aspects in our community.

Additionally, we strive to create bridges with our surroundings and within the chapter due our students’ diverse ages and the distance they live from other chapter members. We want our members to feel comfortable and have fun so that this eliminates what’s holding students back from improving quality work in volunteer events.

Through our chapter and Hwarang in whole, we want to show others that Hwarang is more than just volunteer work, rather we ensure to create impact and be the first to take action to strengthen the vulnerable communities around us.
