Orange County
District

Hwarng Youth Foundation

Introduction

Hwarang Youth Foundation’s Orange County District consists of 6 motivated chapters: Amerige, Eastland, San Diego, Shilla, Sunnyridge, and Temecula. More information about each chapter can be found when you scroll below the text.

Our organization visions to grow the next generation of Korean-American leaders. The Orange County District contributes to this vision by providing opportunities for students to explore and strengthen their Korean-American identities. An example of this includes the Korean War Memorial Restoration event, where students gather bi-weekly to clean and maintain the quality of the memorials. This event displays the students’ efforts to help our community, while also exhibiting devotion to connect with the Korean American cultural heritage by honoring the soldiers who have fought for the future generations.

In our individual chapters and their respective events, our leaders work to exemplify acts of love and peace. A few examples of these events include: San Diego chapter’s Walking Buddies event to provide assistance and comfort to those with disabilities, as well as the Amerige chapter’s volunteering at a local elementary school, and the Garage Sales hosted by many of the Orange County District chapters, dedicated to fundraising for the cataract eye surgeries in Guatemala.

United in our vision, the six chapters of the Orange County District stand together to make sure that every individual has an opportunity to grow as a leader of the new generations. In doing so, not only will individuals grow, but we will grow as a district, serving our community with the 5 loves of Hwarang: love of family, love of nation, love of neighbors, love of justice, and love of peace.

Rooted in these principles, we are excited to see how our district will grow to create more meaningful changes, overcome obstacles, and uplift all voices of our people.
